As long as we have a military industrial complex, the drums of war will not cease. As long as people stand to profit from an aggressive military, there will always be a battle to fit in order to “protect American interests.”
Amazingly, barely out of Iraq, there are those who would have us start a conflict with Iran. My concern about war is the basic idea that “if you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.” Sowing violence only reaps more violence. It leads to retaliation, and it damages those in the military who have to do the butchering and live with disorders like PTSD.
